This isn't really a surprise to anyone - or it shouldn't. It was going to take Portugal losing by a few today and Ivory Coast winning by a few today for it to end up any different than it has and we think these games played out exactly how they were always going too.
After twenty minutes however, I thought for a moment it might happen. Ivory Coast were 2-0 up and looking like they wee going to score every ten minutes, but as the nest ten minutes went by ang then the next - it became clear it wasn't going to happen.
But they gave it a go and it was nice to see but the focus for us today was on Brazil and Portugal - hoping we see something from Brazil that would make us think they could win the World Cup and I'm afraid we didn't see it.
Yes, they are Brazil, but they are not eh Brazil we hoped to see in South Africa and while Kaka and Robinho both sat this one out - for different reasons - they haven't really looked that good with them.
We might be wrong - but so far in this tournament, Argentina look like the closest to World Cup winners - certainly not Brazil.

A nation normally more interested in AFL football, the Aussies have begun to take what they call soccer more seriously, and have some great players in their ranks.
Many legends have embraced the world stage of football, including Ferenc Puskas of Hungary and Lev Yashin of the Soviet Union; we provide details on the careers of many legends to have played.
Brazil Overview
Many individuals will certainly agree that there has never been a better football side than the world cup winning side of 1970. That respective Brazilian side produced the most sublime, flowing football which left the opposition reeling and soccer fans all over the world in ecstacy. Throughout the timeline of Brazilian football, they have always been full of flair and invention. With dazzling performances of ball control and some brilliant free kicks, they captivate audiences the globe over. Brazil has most recently won the 2002 world cup.
Brazil are the only side in the history of football to have participated in every world cup, they have won the trophy a record five times, in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. Brazil has also won the South American championship on five occasions.
In the year of 1971 a national league was set up in Brazil, and they boast many clubs, including the likes of Sao Paulo.
Brazil is notorious for wearing their Yellow shirts, blue shorts and blue socks.
Brazil’s leading goal scorer of all time is Pele, notching up an incredible 77 goals between the years 1957-1971, he is also arguably the greatest player ever to pull on a Brazil shirt, he made his debut at the tender age of 16 in an encounter against Argentina.
Other legendary players include, Garrincha, who was also known as the ‘little bird.’ Garrincha was an integral part of the Brazil side which won the 1958 and 1962 world cup finals. His skilful footwork demolished many a defence. Another more recent Brazilian legend includes, Ronaldo, he has scored an incredible 15 world cup goals, a record number of goals scored in total for the world cup tournament.

Travel - World Cup Soccer
World Cup BalloonsWelcome to our World Cup travel guide. We begin by offering you a brief guide to each city which hosts a World Cup venue for the 2002 event. The urban centers of Japan and Korea offer a wonderfully rich cultural heritage, not to mention world class dining, entertainment (besides the best sporting even in the world), tourism, and hospitality. A trip to the orient is difficult to match, unless of course your lucky enough to take in a match or two while you're there. Our offerings also include a city-by-city video guide of Japanese world cup travel destinations.
The Korea National Tourism Organization's official tourism guide can be found online here. If offers information on some of the best sights to be seen all around Korea, and excellent vital information such as subway maps. If you are traveling to Korea and are worried about the language barrier, spend some World Cup Alofttime at this site. Korean is a scientific language and quite learnable, but will remain a challenge for most of the western world. Current weather conditions and temperatures for every major Korean metropolitan center can be obtained from this live site.
No other country in the world revels in the juxtaposition of tradition and modernity, nature and artifice, as does Japan. Guides to specific regions of Japan can be viewed at Japan-Travel-Updates. Current weather conditions can be found via Yahoo's weather guide. If you are traveling to Japan for the world cup, utilize our city guide (which also has English language video clips highlighting each venue city), and take the time to read up the experience at travel adventures.org. These well written commentaries offer a glimpse of what it is like to truly take in some Japanese cultural experiences.
